Rationale

The subject of increasing women in leadership positions in trade unions has been an agenda of gender equality in trade unions for decades. Nowadays, integrating women into trade union leadership positions is highly regarded as a vehicle that enables dynamism and transformation of trade unions and ensures inclusivity (needs of all members are met) and self-renewal of trade unions. Hence for the women members to be able to take up the leadership and any decision making position in the union, relevant capacity building is critical especially in the changing context of the future of work.
