ILES Staff – ILES

ILES is an institute that is wholly owned by the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU). It was established in 2016 and was registered and accredited as an Education and Training Provider (ETP) by the Botswana Qualifications Authority in 2017. Being the first labour college in the country, ILES has an opportunity to explore unchartered terrain of labour and employment studies and to attract the attention of researchers, academia, development partners and experts in labour and employment issues. Therefore the institute intends to leverage on the good will that it receives from this pool of experts and development partners. ILES intends to develop into a centre of excellence on matters of training and research on labour and employment not only in Botswana but also in the region.

The institute aims to empower the working population with relevant education and training on labour law and employment law including work ethics.
