Appreciation and knowledge of the role of trade unions are also key to further understanding of labour laws, industrial relations and the potential role of trade unions in national development and the creation of peaceful industrial relations necessary to attract foreign investment and economic growth. This short course lays the foundation for knowledge of Botswanaโs tripartite relations by tracing the key moments and achievements of the trade union movement from the 1930s to 1940s.
PURPOSE
The aim of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge of the evolution of trade unions and their importance for the workers in Botswana, the membership composition among trade unions and the legislative process of trade unions.
