Women Leadership Training

RATIONALE

The subject of increasing women in leadership positions in trade unions has been an agenda of gender equality in trade unions for decades. Nowadays, integrating women into trade union leadership positions is highly regarded as a vehicle that enables dynamism and transformation of trade unions and ensures in clusivity (needs of all members are met) and self-renewal of trade unions. Hence for the women members to be able to take up the leadership and any decision-making position in the union, relevant capacity building is critical, especially in the changing context of the future of work.

PURPOSE

The aim of this course is to equip women with relevant skillsย and knowledge that builds their self-confidence for trade unionย leadership roles and positions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of various concepts and skills relevant to empowerment and leadership development
  • Show understanding of their self-confidence for trade union leadership roles and positions
  • Strengthening solidarity and networks amongst the women as leaders.
